Now available here in the UK, I wanted to find out if this new sporty two-seater was more than just a Boxster with a lid? Both cars appear mechanically so similar, the Cayman S could easily have been called the Boxster Coupé, saving Porsche all the bother of coming up with another name; which in this case was lifted from an alligator indigenous to a warmer climate. Even Porsche have been at pains to point out that 'to classify the Cayman S as merely the coupé version of the Boxster does a dis-service to both cars, each of which is unique with its own special characteristics.'

So, do both cars taste the same, or are they of a completely different flavour? Either way the Cayman S is a delicacy, my bright yellow car was littered with extras, but almost everything you need comes as standard: six airbags should the worst happen, tight fitting and beautifully crafted leather seats and Porsche's stability management system which is one of the best and least intrusive stability systems around. The build quality is exceptional and inside everything just feels right - in its proper place.

When you slide into the driver's seat, like the Boxster, the steering wheel feels overly large at first, but feels perfect immediately you hit the road - and hit the road you do! The Cayman S comes with a mid mounted, 24 valve, 3.4 litre, six cylinder engine that pumps out 295 horse power through a six speed manual gearbox - which is an absolute delight. It's nearly as fast as Porsches 355 bhp 911 Carrera S, and simply leaves the Boxster standing!

The 2010 Porsche Boxster is a roadster and minivan with two seats that carries the stylings of the Porsche 550 Spyder. Cayman hatchback coupe of Porsche is using the standard design of the Porsche Boxster. Similarly to Cayman, this small size car has rear and front cargo boxes with 6-cylinder engines. Boxster carries the previous version's power-folding fabric top along with heated-glass back window.

The trim levels available in the 2010 Boxster are sporty S and base trim. The Sporty S trim uses a 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engine that is giving 310-hp, whereas the trim base is getting power of 255-hp by a 2.9-liter flat six-cylinder engine. Porsche tuner RUF Automobile is developing ten electric vehicles with three different powertrains based on the 911 Carrera (997), which will be put to the test in “real life situations”. The prototypes are being manufactured in cooperation with German electronics giant Siemens AG and are going to be presented in the first half of 2011. The three eRUF variants feature a single motor concept, twin motor concept with 2-speed gearbox and twin motor concept with torque vectoring.

The first powertrain comprises a 180 kW (241HP) electric motor, 29 kWh lithium-ion battery and standard Porsche gearbox used for speed reduction. The setup offers an estimated driving range of 150 km (93 miles) and decent performance: 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).

We can sorta, kinda, try to understand the reasoning behind the transformation of a Pontiac Fiero into a supercar replica, but what happens when someone decides to use a Porsche Boxster S as a base to create a... At a first glance it looks like not much has changed but a closer view reveals that the prototype features a more curvalicious rear-end and slightly altered proportions.

Now, the UK-based tuning firm brought to our attention some real life shots of the SUV, which had its world premiere at last month's MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show in London.

At this week's Essen Motor Show, SpeedART will present a new bodykit called the TITAN EVO, which will be available for all second-generation Cayenne models, including the hybrid. In addition, there are also going to be a host of other mods available, such as mechanical and interior upgrades.
